FABRICS
We carry a wide range of fabrics for cross stitch. We have linens in counts from 56 ct to 16ct. The colors range from natural and neutral colors to solid dyed colors and also hand dyed and over dyed colors to fit any need. We also carry EVENWEAVE fabric such as Lugana and Jobelan. We have Hardanger, Dovos, Tula, and Ariosa cloth. We carry Aida cloth in counts from 7ct Klostern to 20 ct . To round out our selection, we have weavers cloth for punch needle enthusiasts and muslin for all sorts of uses. For our Needlepoint folks, we have blank canvases in a range of sizes and even a few painted canvases.
We sell our fabrics in several ways – By the fat half yard, the fat quarter and custom cut by the square inch. We also zigzag around the edges at no charge.
LINENS
We carry a wide range of linens – in both counts and colors. If you are interested in a specific count and color of a fabric, please call or email us and we can let you know what is currently in stock. Our stock changes regularly and it is impossible to keep up with the daily changing stock online.
Here is a list of the companies of dyed linens we try to keep in stock regularly. We always have solid colors in stock, but do not list them here.
HAND DYED BY STEPHANIE
This company has been in business since 2004 and is based in Conway, Arkansas. They create a nice range of very lovely and lively colors. we carry 32 and 36 ct linens.
LAKESIDE LINENS
Lakeside linens uses Zweigart and Legacy linens as the base for their hand dyed linens. They dye both a regular version and Vintage version of their colors. The Vintage version is a livelier and more distressed version of the colors. The Regular version has minimum shading. Their linens are available in 28, 32, 36 and 40 ct. The higher count fabrics will appear a little lighter than the lower count fabrics. They use fiber reactive dyes and their fabrics are considered color and lightfast. If you need to wash the fabric, they recommend to wash in cool water with Orvus paste(FabriCare).
MOUNTAIN AIRE DESIGNS
Mountain Aire uses Zweigart linens as the base of their dyeing. They specialize in subtle and rich color combinations.
PICTURE THIS PLUS
Picture This Plus uses Zweigart linens as their base. Their fabrics are washable and colorfast. They dye Aida and Evenweave in addition to linen in over 100 colors.
R &R
R & R began in 1993 and is based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia and owned by Ann Robbins and Pat Ryan. Their purpose in dyeing fabric is to recreate the antique fabrics of samplers from the past . To that end, they use cold water dyes and sometimes coffee on their linens. They advise NOT to wash their fabrics.
SERAPHIM HANDDYED FABRICS
Seraphim Fabrics are a new addition to our lines of hand dyed fabrics. They produce a subtle and sophisticated selection of fabrics to stitch on. We carry 40 ct, 36 ct and 32 ct from them.
DAMES OF THE NEEDLE
Dames of the Needle is a small company based out of Georgia. They create a subtle and rich line of fabrics for stitch.
WEEKS DYE WORKS
Weeks is a family owned business that has been in business since 1994. They use environmentally friendly dyes in their dyeing process. In addition to fabrics, they have a line of hand painted embroidery floss. We carry 40ct, 35ct, 30ct, 20ct linens of theirs.
THE REST OF OUR FABRICS
EVENWEAVE – LUGANA and JOBELAN
If linens are not your choice, we have other fabrics to choose from. Lugana ad Jobelan are similar, in that they are both considered even weave fabrics. Evenweave fabrics are a little easier to see than linens. The difference between Lugana and Jobelan is fiber make up. Lugana is 52% cotton, 48% Viscose. Jobelan is 51% cotton, 49% modal rayon. We carry them in 20ct, 25ct, 28ct, and 32ct in a variety of colors. Call to see what is currently available.
AIDA CLOTH
Aida cloth is an easy cloth to see where to stitch. It comes in a range of 10ct, 14ct, 16 ct, 18, ct and 20 ct. Aida also comes in a variety of colors and even some hand dyed colors, too. The selection varies, so call to check with what we have. We can order, if needed.
HARDANGER, ARIOSA, DAVOS , WEAVERS CLOTH and TRIGGER CLOTH
We carry fabrics for Hardanger, dimensional embroidery and punch needle embroidery needs.
BLANK CANVAS
We carry blank canvas for needlpoint fans. We have Mono and Deluxe in white and in various counts. They can be purchase in full or half widths by the inch.
