PAINTING & DRAWING CLASSES
Drawing class taught by Kathleen Heinen
KATHLEEN HEINEN, MFA (UW-Madison), a well-known figurative artist whose exhibits include the Elvehjem Museum of Art in Madison and the Peltz Gallery in Milwaukee, and winner of the the Northern National Art Competition juried by Philip Pearlstein, will teach a six-class series, "Figurative Drawing and Painting." The course is an introduction to figure drawing for all levels of skill and experience. Classes feature drawing from direct observation of a live (clothed) model, and students will explore different creative approaches to figure drawing using a variety of media. The course will meet on Thursday evenings March 8, 15, 22, 29, April 5, and 12 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at a location a few doors east of Lynn's in the same building complex. Course content includes instruction in contour and gesture drawing as well as lessons in proportion, value and composition as applied to the figure. Some studies of anatomy and a focus on the head, face and features, and hands and feet are also included. The series fee is $360.00, which includes the model fee. (NEW) Drawing class taught by Micah Farritor MICAH FARRITOR, a nationally published illustrator working in the fields of comics, magazines, role playing games, and electronic media, will teach a four-class series, "Illustration Essentials." The course is an introduction to illustrative and narrative drawing for all levels of skill and experience. Classes will concentrate on taking concept sketches to finished work, and will focus on composition, light, texture, and value. Course content also includes researching reference from a professional’s perspective. The course will meet on Saturday afternoons March 10, March 17, March 24, and March 31, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at a location a few doors east of Lynn's in the same building complex. The series fee is $200.00. Space is limited to a maximum of 9 students, so the series registration is suggested to ensure availability. Painting class taught by Georgene Pomplun
Georgene
is teaching another six-week series, "Painting in the Studio."
The course reprises a successful fall session, with some changes
reflecting the popularity of specific classes. The course will meet
on Saturday mornings March 10, 17, 24, 31, April 7, and 14 from
9 a.m. to noon at a location a few doors east of Lynn's in the same
building complex. She will concentrate for one week on using
photographs as painting reference, two weeks on painting from a still
life setup, and three weeks on painting from a live model. The series
fee is $300.00, or $150.00 for a half session. Space is limited to a
maximum of 9 students so the series registration is suggested to
ensure availability. Also included is the generous class discount

(Brazilian) Embroidery Class

Fee: $35 + materials. Materials include kit (with stamped fabric, rayon thread and needles), 4” or 5” plastic embroidery hoop (other types are OK) and good embroidery scissors. Stop into the store to see some of Judy's wonderful embroidery samples.

CROSS STITCH CLUB
Two sessions of our Cross Stitch Club will meet Wednesday, March 7th, 1 to 2:30 pm and 6 to 7:30 pm. The location is the empty storefront at the east end of Odana Plaza, just a few doors away from Lynn's. We now have room for more members, and we'd love to have you join. If you are new to the club or missed the last session, we would appreciate a call or email to let us know that you plan to attend. Club fee is $5 per session.
